A Message from Fred Brito Gomez de Maria

and the Foundation for Humanity

As we prepare to enter the Holiday Season, it is our sincere hope that all of us will become aware of the greatest need that we have in our world, our communities and yes, even the needs of the people who may be living right next door.

Throughout the year, we have all been busy going about our daily tasks.  Just living, has become harder and harder through these difficult economic times.  Nonetheless, we have Hope and we believe that a better day is yet to come.

All across this nation and around the world where I have traveled this year, I have seen first hand the destruction and the despair in the communities and the lives that I have had the privilege to touch.  I have done what I can as only one person can, and I do believe that we have touched many people. There is much work ahead, and I continue to be hopeful that in some small way, I will be able to truly Make a Difference.

Ernie Haase wrote a song which he sings as part of The Ernie Haase and Signature Sound entitled: “We Need Each Other.” And so, I share Ernie and his words with you this Holiday Season, in the hopes that each of us will not only read them, but to also place them into action in our daily lives.

"If one of us is hurting, none of us has peace.  If one of us is bound, then none of us is free.  Reach out and take my hand, I need your strength to stand.  I am a part of you, and you are a part of me.  No longer strangers, we’re sisters and brothers, We Need Each Other."

And so, as we enter this Holiday Season, my hope is that you will set a special place at your table to share a meal with someone that you do not know.  No matter where they have been, what they look like, or what they might have done, we are all brother’s and sisters.  And as Ernie say’s, We Need Each Other!

On behalf of the Board of Directors, our staff and volunteers, this is Fred Brito Gomez de Maria, wishing you the very best of this coming Season of Hope and Light!

FRED BRITO ROLLS OUT NEW SEMINAR DEDICATED TOWARDS REBUILDING LIVES THROUGH RECOVERY

Fred Brito Rolls Out A New Seminar
Dedicated Towards Recovery

RECOVERY:
The regaining of or possibility of
regaining something lost or taken away.

We have all lost something in the journey of life. I know that I have, and not once but many times. But does this mean that since we have lost it, we can't ever get it back? Not at all.

This powerful seminar is designed specifically for the many of us who have lost our way and need help to get back in the World of Life!

In 1980, having lost everything that I owned, I was living near the corner of 7th Street and Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. I lived in a Maytag box, with all of my worldly possessions and my trusted best friend Rin. it was home. I lived with the smells and the looks from people passing by as if I were a monster or as if I should be living someplace else, out of sight, out of mind. Little did the people passing by know that I was just like them. Human. Not a monster, but a human being who just lost his way. I knew then that no one was going to help me, but me. So I picked myself up, and started the process of Recovery.

It is not easy. In fact, it is extremely difficult. I knew that the situation that I was in was not who I was. God gave me many talents, and gifts, so I thought a while and began my journey forward. Each step was hard, but I was determined to make something of myself, if it were the last thing that I did. Well the rest is history, and many of you know my story.

But what about the many other human beings who find themselves living in despair? Homeless, addicted, elderly, young and lost. Do we as a society continue to over look them as if they are invisible? Do we hold ourselves more important than them? Do we have the right to judge them and look down on them as if they were inhuman? I answer a loud and resounding "NO" to those questions.

Literally millions of people all over the world find themselves living in despair. Not by choice, but by their own personal circumstances. Unfortunate as it is, this is reality.

In my view, the problem is that we live in a society where some Have and many Haves Not. And the ones that Have, tend in many cases to ignore the situation verses dealing with it head on.

We all deserve to be treated with dignity, no matter where we find ourselves in our Journey in Life. For me, I have lived it. Been there, and I have done it.

Today, as I talk and share with so many all over America who find themselves living in despair, there is one common thread in their responses to this question. "What can someone do to help you, and are you willing to stand up and help yourself." Their answer: "I don't know how, and I am so tired and have lost any hope of having a decent life."

R-E-C-O-V-E-R-Y

This seminar that I have developed is free to attend and will be coming to a conference center in your city and state beginning September 2009. It deals with the problems of hopelessness and it is meant to inspire two very important parts of our society. The people who have lost their way and the government and community leaders who can fix the problem, if they put their minds together.

This is a two-part weekend seminar.

DAY ONE

This first day is specifically for the many who seek a better way of life. A full day of powerful inspiration and "The Blue Print" on how they can and will find their way out of any negative situation and begin the "Journey of Recovery."

This is a full day of tools, and hard work that will lead to the foundation of what is yet to come. (at the end of this seminar, each attendee will be matched with a recovery sponsor and enrolled in a program that I have approved based on the success rates of the program.
)

Day one will also have in the audience, members of the community and government leaders who will be able to hear, see and feel the pain that these people deal with each and every day. I am a firm believe er that you have to live it in order to truly understand it. This will be an opportunity for many in the community to experience something very powerful and my hope is that it will inspire them to put their good words into good and powerful deeds.

DAY TWO

This is the portion of the two day seminar that I enjoy most. It gives me a chance to connect with and challenge Community Leaders and Government Officials to put to rest the powerful speeches of the campaign and inspire them into action.

This full day session is designed to unmask the problems of our society as they truly are from coast to coast and the current thinking process that causes the problem to continue without remedy. This is about inspiring these leaders to think out of the box. To work together to find common ground and to work together to deal with the problems that face every city large and small. Rest assured, I don't mince my words. I know how government works and I know full well the games that are played with funding and valuable resources. The attendees here will know that I have done my homework and I speak from facts not fiction.

This will also provide the community leaders the opportunity to learn how to use the new tools that I will provide and the thought process required. It has worked in other cities and can (if strictly followed) work in their cities as well. It is all about changing the mindset, from, "The homeless and those living in despair is too difficult of a problem to fix, so we may as well pretend that it does not exist. At the same time we continue to throw money and resources away (in order to convince society that we are working hard to solve this problem) with band-aid projects that don't work. Employing seat warmers who have no clue what truly living in despair is all about."

The change will become apparent when I help, empower, encourage and challenge them to a new way of thinking that is based on action verses lip service. Results verses status quo.
At the conclusion of the seminar, both groups are brought to discuss the road ahead and place in motion The Plan of Action.

This seminar with not for the faint of heart. It is meant to be the electrical shock that can and will start the process of RECOVERY.

"Only and if you have been through the deepest valleys
in life, will you ever truly know the magnificence
of being on the highest mountain." (R. Nixon)

I have been to my deepest valleys in life due to my own actions. It is not a very pretty place. I know what I speak of and I know that I may not have all of the answers, but one thing for sure, I refuse to look the other way as if these people, (human beings) don't exist. This is what we as a people do each and every day. We look down upon others who have lost their way, instead of reaching out and offering to lead them out of despair. It is not hard to do. "Anything that we do, if it comes from the heart, is never difficult."
